Upon request, your city, municipality or Verbandsgemeinde will also issue you with a special confirmation of registration in the form of a registration certificate (e.g. for submission to the registry office or another authority) if you are registered there. A registration certificate primarily serves as proof of the residence and basically contains first and last names, doctoral degree, date of moving in and out and address of the persons concerned. The registration certificate may - if necessary - also contain further data of the person concerned.

Registration certificates must be applied for in person or through an authorised person.
A registration certificate is issued exclusively in German.
