Apply for a repetition of the state compulsory examination to improve grades

Description

If you have successfully passed the state compulsory subject examination in the state of Saxony-Anhalt for the first time, you can repeat it once to improve your grades.

Requirements

You have successfully passed the state compulsory subject examination in the first attempt.

Which documents are required?

Performance records of advanced exercises in civil law, criminal law and public law
Proof of performance of the intermediate examination
Transcripts of records of other courses
Proof of completion of practical study periods
Proof of payment of the examination fee

You must provide the original or certified copy of the evidence.

What are the fees?

A fee of € 300.00 will be charged for the examination procedure. If you have passed your first exam attempt as a free trial, the mentioned fee does not apply.

What deadlines do I have to pay attention to?

The reporting period of the respective examination run must be observed. For the first round of the respective year, this covers the period from 01.11. to 30.11. of the previous year. For the second round of the examination, the reporting period extends from 01.05. – 31.05.

You can only submit the application for admission to grade improvement after notification of the result of the first attempt and only until the end of the admission period after next.

Processing duration

The examination procedure takes approximately six months.

After submitting your application, you will be admitted to improve your grades and invited to take the oral examination to prepare the supervisory work and, if the written examination exists, to the examination. If you achieve a better grade in the examination procedure than in your first attempt, a new certificate of passing the state compulsory subject examination will be issued. If this is not the case, it remains with the determination of the previous result.
