Inspect the DPMA Register

Description

The "DPMAregister" database is made available to you by the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA). There you can search online bibliographic data as well as legal and procedural status data on various publications. In the DPMAregister you will find information on:

Patents and utility models
- disclosed patent applications as well as granted patents and registered utility models from 1 January 1981
- disclosed and granted patents of the GDR from 1 January 1981
- supplementary protection certificates for medicinal products and plant protection products
- European patents
- Topographies of microelectronic semiconductor products that were or are pending or in force on the cut-off date of December 31, 2010 or later
Marches
- German trade marks registered since 1 January 1998
- registered German trademarks since October 1894, unless they were cancelled before 1 January 1995
- rejected and withdrawn German trademarks (excerpt)
- EU trademarks issued by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO)
- internationally registered (IR) trademarks of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), if Germany or the European Union are named
Designs
- Register data for all registered and cancelled designs with filing date from 01.07.1988
- Procedural data for all registered and cancelled designs from 1 January 1998 onwards
- complete representations of designs registered on or after 1 June 2004

By linking to the "DEPATISnet" document archive, you will also see the published documents for the individual entries. For example, you can view patent and utility model specifications as well as disclosure specifications.

In addition, the official publications of the DPMA − the Patent Gazette, the Trade Mark Gazette and the Design Gazette − are available online or can be downloaded as a document. In addition, DPMAregister offers the possibility of electronic file inspection in patent and utility model proceedings.

You can choose from various options for research, from beginner to expert research. The register and procedural status data are updated daily, the publication data weekly, parallel to the patent, trademark and design gazette.

Process flow

You can use DPMAregister online and free of charge without registration.

There are various modes to choose from for research, from beginner to expert research.
As a search result, you will receive configurable, sortable and downloadable hit lists. For the individual hits, the current register information is displayed with the respective legal and procedural status.
You can print or download the register entry. This will provide you with a complete extract from the register.
By linking to the "DEPATISnet" database, you will also be shown the published documents, such as patent and utility model specifications and disclosure documents, for the individual entries.
In addition, the official publications of the DPMA in the form of patent, trade mark and design gazettes are available online via DPMAregister or can be downloaded as a document.
Since 07.01.2014 you also have the possibility of electronic file inspection in patent and utility model proceedings.
DPMAregister is updated daily. The legally required publication of disclosure or patent specifications, the registration of utility models, trademarks or designs and the publication of official patent, trademark and design gazettes take place on fixed official publication days: for the intellectual property rights patents and utility models usually on Thursdays, for the intellectual property rights trademarks and designs usually on Fridays.
