For the extension of a driving licence, the provisions of the first issue apply in principle

Exceptions exist for:

• the extension of category A1 to category A2 and the extension of category A2 to category A:
  If you have been in possession of class A1 or class A2 for two years, you only have to take one practical exam (advancement).
• the extension of class B to category BE, class C1 to category C1E, class D to category DE and class D1 to category D1E:
  Only one practical exam has to be taken here.
