Apply for aids for persons insured under the statutory accident insurance

Description

Auxiliary means are all prescribed things which

ensure the success of the treatment or
mitigate or compensate for the consequences of damage to health and
help to achieve the participation and rehabilitation goals.

Aids include in particular:

body substitutes, for example prostheses
orthopaedic aids, for example supporting apparatus orthopaedic shoes, gloves and
other aids such as hearing aids, glasses, dentures, wheelchairs and guide dogs for the blind.

The statutory accident insurance also covers the costs of possible modifications, repairs and replacements of the aids.

The aids are considered a benefit in kind. As a rule, you can use them free of charge.

If a fixed amount has been set for aids, your employers' liability insurance association or accident insurance fund will regularly cover the costs to the extent of the statutory fixed amount.

Unlike in statutory health insurance, you do not usually have to pay a co-payment.

Process flow

If you need an aid as a result of an accident at work or an occupational disease, have a medical prescription issued by

your accident insurance consultant or your attending specialist
