As the client, you or your commissioned third parties must give advance notice to the competent occupational safety and health authority at least two weeks before the construction site is set up if

• the anticipated duration of the work is more than 30 working days and more than 20 employees are scheduled to work on the construction site for at least one shift at the same time, or
• the scope of the work is expected to exceed 500 man-days, whereby a person-day comprises the work performed by a person over one work shift.

The establishment of the construction site begins with the essential preparatory work at the site of the construction project, which is necessary immediately before its completion, for example construction of social facilities, installation of supply and disposal facilities, delivery of building materials, machines and equipment.

In addition, you must display the advance notice visibly and legible on the construction site without any external influences and weather influences.

In the event of significant changes, you will need to update the notice notice. A new transmission to the competent occupational safety authority is not necessary.

Significant changes that require an adjustment of the advance notice are, for example:

• change of builders or commissioned third parties,
• the initial appointment of a coordinating person or subsequent change of that person,
• shortening the duration of the construction work, where this requires increased work at the same time or in unplanned shift work,
• first-time employment of employees of several employers or use of subcontractors,
• a significant increase in the maximum number of concurrent employees or the number of employers or the number of companies without employees.
