New registration:

• Registration certificate part II / operating license - if not available: EC certificate of conformity (for vehicles not subject to registration)
• EC certificate of conformity
• if no registration certificate part II is available:
  • Proof of authorization to dispose of the vehicle (purchase contract or invoice)
  • Confirmation from the manufacturer, importer or seller that the vehicle is a new vehicle for which no vehicle documents have yet been applied for and issued
  • Demonstration of the trailer; if not possible, a confirmation from an officially recognized expert or another authority regarding the identification of the trailer must be submitted
• Vehicle insurance confirmation (eVB number: seven-digit combination of numbers and letters) for the trailer's liability insurance
• Vehicle tax direct debit authorization (SEPA direct debit mandate)
• Identity card or passport or foreign identity card with current registration certificate - maximum 3 months old
• Registration for sole proprietorship: Business registration
• Authorization for companies: Extract from the commercial register or business registration and power of attorney of the managing director with copy of identity card
• Admission to associations: Extract from the register of associations and power of attorney of the named representative with a copy of the identity card
• Admission to civil law companies: complete overview of the shareholders (usually shareholders' agreement); power of attorney and declaration of the natural person to whom the admission is to be granted (confirmed by all shareholders by signature), identity cards of all shareholders
• If applicable, power of attorney and personal document of the authorized representative

Re-registration, transfer or first registration of used vehicle:

• Registration certificate part I (old: vehicle registration document)
• Registration certificate part II (old: vehicle registration document) / operating license - if not available: EC certificate of conformity (for vehicles without registration)
• EC certificate of conformity
• if no registration certificate part II is available:
  • Proof of authorization to dispose of the vehicle (purchase contract or invoice)
  • Presentation of the vehicle; if not possible, a confirmation from an officially recognized expert or another authority regarding the identification of the vehicle must be submitted
• Foreign vehicle documents and license plates, if applicable
• Vehicle insurance confirmation (eVB number: seven-digit combination of numbers and letters) for the trailer's liability insurance
• Vehicle tax direct debit authorization (SEPA direct debit mandate)

• Valid main inspection; inspection period must not have expired
