Description

You must notify the lower building supervisory authority in advance if you wish to remove a structure.

This applies to removal that is not exempt from the procedure.

You may remove the following structures without going through the procedure:

Installations in accordance with Section 60 (1) BauO LSA (for example: small garages, masts or walls)
free-standing buildings of building classes 1 and 3
as well as other installations that are not buildings with a height of up to 10 m.

You can start to remove the structure one month after you notify the building inspectorate if the building inspectorate does not take any measures.

If you only want to remove part of a building project, this is a change to a building structure. You will then need a building permit for this.

The following applies to non-detached buildings: You must have the stability of the building or the buildings to which the building to be removed is attached checked. The inspection must be carried out by a qualified structural engineer. The removal must then be monitored. This does not apply if the building is attached to buildings that are not subject to procedures.
