Applying for an extension of the public appointment as an agricultural expert

Description

If you are a publicly appointed and sworn expert in the field of agriculture and forestry, including horticulture, viticulture and fisheries, you can extend your application to include other areas. For this extension, you must be publicly appointed and sworn in by the competent authority, as for the initial appointment.

As a publicly appointed and sworn expert, you are checked for special expertise in your area of specialization. The purpose of public appointment is to provide courts, authorities and the public with particularly knowledgeable and personally suitable experts whose statements are particularly credible.

The public appointment includes the provision of expert opinions and other expert services such as consulting, monitoring, inspections as well as arbitration and arbitration-related activities.

Prerequisites

You will be publicly appointed as an expert in the field of agriculture and forestry, including horticulture, viticulture and fisheries, if you

have sufficient professional experience at the time of application
provide evidence of special expertise in the field applied for, two years of practical experience in preparing expert opinions and the ability to prepare expert opinions
live in orderly financial circumstances
offer a guarantee of impartiality and independence in the performance of their work as experts
have the necessary mental and physical capacity to meet the requirements of the subject area applied for

You can be publicly appointed as an expert in an employment or service relationship if you can also prove that

you are able to carry out the expert activity personally,
the expert activity in the individual case is not subject to any professional instructions and you can sign the expert reports yourself and affix the seal awarded and
your employer releases you to the necessary extent for the expert activity.

Required documents

Curriculum vitae with a detailed description of your previous activity
Certified copies of certificates that are relevant to your work as an expert
Proof of successful completion of a university or university of applied sciences degree in agricultural sciences (at least six semesters of study) or comparable training that is sufficiently related to the subject area applied for
Six copies of a maximum of two self-prepared expert opinions in each of the subject areas applied for
Two photographs
Police clearance certificate for submission to an authority
In the case of experts who are in an employment or service relationship, a written declaration from the employer or employer's employer that the necessary time off work will be taken for the expert activity
Proof of an official or occupational medical examination confirming that you have the required mental and physical capacity in accordance with the requirements of your requested field of expertise

You must submit the application for the extension of your public appointment and swearing-in to the appointing authority by the deadline.
The authority will examine the application and the documents and expert opinions submitted. If this preliminary examination shows that you do not meet the legal requirements, your application will be rejected.
If an appointment is considered after the preliminary examination, the application including the submitted expert opinions will be submitted to the members of the expert commission for an evaluation.
To assess your professional suitability, an expert discussion is usually held with the members of the expert committee. At least one member of the expert committee will submit a statement on each expert opinion submitted.
It is at the discretion of the appointing authority whether it follows the vote of the expert committee. It must give reasons for any deviating decision. You will then receive a corresponding decision or the application will be rejected. You will receive written notification of the rejection unless you withdraw the application.
