Apply for change in aviation security program for German air carrier

Description

German air carriers operating flights within the European Union (EU) must ensure that their aviation security program is always up to date.

If you as an air carrier have an aviation security program, it must be continuously updated so that it remains valid and approved. You must apply to the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) for changes to the aviation security program.

Changes to the aviation security program are, for example

new legal framework conditions
another person becomes aviation security officer or aviation security officer
Change of name of the air carrier
Changes that affect security measures
changes affecting the aviation security officers or the representatives of the aviation security officers
Other changes

You may only implement changes to new procedures after they have been approved by the LBA.

Depending on the change, it is either temporary or becomes a permanent part of the aviation security program.

Prerequisites

You have an aviation security program and a valid operating permit
You submit the application
- as aviation security officer or aviation security officer
- by proxy

Declaration of commitment
Evidence for aviation security officers or new representatives of the air carrier
Copy of the background check
Training certificate
Proof of completed further training

You can lodge an objection within 1 month.

Procedure

To apply for a change to the aviation security program, please proceed as follows:

Go to the federal portal verwaltung.bund.de and complete the online application.
- You will need the ELSTER company account for the online application.
You can upload your documents directly. Alternatively, you can send your notification and documents to the LBA by e-mail, fax or post.
The Federal Aviation Office will review the requested change to the aviation security program and coordinate any open questions with the aviation security officers.
Once your application has been processed by the authority, you will receive a notification and a fee notice.
