If you

have found themselves in an emergency situation (e.g. your account or wages/salary have been seized, the bailiff registers, imprisonment is threatened, ...),
have lost track of your financial situation,
do not feel up to disputes with your creditors,
would like to receive information about your rights and options for action as a debtor

The debtor and insolvency counselling service of the city of Halle (Saale) offers you help and support. The employees

work with you to get a precise overview of your economic situation and debt
help to secure your livelihood and stabilize your financial situation (e.g. advice on possible use of social benefits)
clarify, for example, how to deal with threatening letters from creditors and debt collection agencies, consequences of the judicial dunning procedure (bailiffs, seizures, affidavits) and possible protective measures,
contact your creditors, conduct negotiations, above all to avoid further indebtedness,
develop a debt relief concept together with you,
check whether the use of insolvency proceedings can represent a solution to your debt problem and accompany you on the possible path to proceedings.

You should be ready,

disclose your financial circumstances,
to participate actively on a voluntary basis, to meet deadlines and agreements,
not to enter into any new debt obligations,
if necessary. Change your housekeeping, previous habits and consumption patterns.
