Apply for registration in a register of craftsmen (craft subject to authorisation)

Description

If you wish to practise a craft subject to authorisation, you must register in a register (craft register) maintained by your regionally responsible Chamber of Crafts before starting your entrepreneurial activity. In addition to the company owner (sole proprietor, partnership with legal capacity or legal entity), the craft register lists who takes over the management of the company. Management may be exercised either by the farmer or by an employed manager. The management must have the technical requirements for the exercise of the craft subject to approval. Proof must be provided by means of a master craftsman's certificate for the respective craft or an equivalent relevant professional qualification. For more information, see the "Prerequisites" section.
Crafts subject to licensing include, among others, the following professions:

  • Bricklayer
  • Carpenter
  • Roofer
  • road builders,
  • scaffolding builders,
  • Metalworker,
  • Tiler
  • screed layers,

Attention: You may only practice the craft subject to approval that has been registered. If several crafts subject to authorisation are exercised, each of these crafts subject to authorisation must normally be registered in the register of craftsmen.
