Without a master craftsman's examination, you or your plant manager can obtain an exercise authorization from the Chamber of Crafts (HWK). To do so, you must have relevant training as a journeyman/skilled worker and have carried out at least six years of practical activity in the trade. Of these, you must have worked in a managerial position for at least four years, with the exception of chimney sweeping and health crafts.

If you already operate a craft subject to licensing, you can obtain a right of exercise from the Chamber of Crafts for another craft subject to licensing or for essential activities of this trade. To do this, you must prove the necessary knowledge and skills. Your previous professional experience and activities will be taken into account.
