Small sewage treatment plants will continue to be used as a significant proportion of wastewater disposal in Saxony-Anhalt in the future. Nationwide uniform minimum requirements are laid down in the Wastewater Ordinance for the discharge of wastewater from small sewage treatment plants. In order to comply with these requirements, the small sewage treatment plants generally require a biological treatment stage. The plants, which are usually operated in rural areas as a permanent solution, must be adapted to the state of the art.

The state and the Saxony-Anhalt Investment Bank are helping property owners to finance the construction or conversion of small sewage treatment plants with the low-interest loan "Sachsen-Anhalt KLAR".

Financing can be provided for the construction or conversion of a small sewage treatment plant or drainless collection pit
Especially:

• Investment costs including planning services and costs for the construction of necessary access roads
• Administrative fees as well as expenses for the acceptance and release of the small sewage treatment plant or drainless collection pit.
